NULAYER › Concerns › Shapewear that doesn't roll down when you sit
Yes, with one adjustmentRolling happens when a garment's top edge has nothing holding it up. High-waisted shorts and briefs rely on the elastic at the waist alone; when you sit, the body folds at the waist, the elastic has to travel, and it takes the shortcut down. Strapless and waist-only pieces roll for the same reason.
A bodysuit works differently. The waist panel is suspended from the shoulders by the straps, so when you sit the panel can move with you but cannot fold over on itself. That is why the fix for rolling is a bodysuit, and why the fix for a bodysuit that still moves is the straps.
Put the bodysuit on and fasten the hook-and-eye crotch closure. Then adjust the straps until the closure sits comfortably and the waist panel is at your natural waist, not above it. A short torso needs the straps shorter than they come; a long torso needs them longer. The straps on NULAYER are fully adjustable for this reason.
If the straps are at their longest and the crotch still pulls, or the waist panel sits above your waist, the bodysuit is a band too small. Go up. The chart sizes by bust and waist; a long torso often means going up a band even when bust and waist say otherwise.
The top and leg edges are bonded, not stitched with an elastic band. A bonded edge has no ridge to catch on a dress and no elastic to grip and then release. It lies flat against the skin and stays where the straps put it. Medium-firm compression helps too: a garment fighting the body harder has more reason to move when the body bends.
Which size: Bust and waist from the chart; at the top of a band, take the next one up. Then set the straps before you judge the fit.
| Band | US | Bust (in) | Waist (in) |
|---|---|---|---|
| XXS–XS | 0–2 | 30–33.5 | 23–26 |
| S–M | 4–10 | 34–38.5 | 26.5–31 |
| L–XL | 12–14 | 39–41 | 31.5–34.5 |
| 2XL–3XL | 16–20 | 41.5–48 | 35–41.5 |
True to size for most wearers.
Between sizes: the smaller band for maximum smoothing, the larger for all-evening comfort.
The waist is held by the straps, so it does not fold over the way shorts do. If the panel drifts, the straps are set too long or the size is too small.
The leg edges are bonded and lie flat. If they ride up, the band is too small for your thigh; go up a band or choose the thong, which has no leg edge.
Yes. It is medium-firm, built to be worn through a long dinner or a flight. Set the straps once, standing, and check the mirror after you sit the first time.
