NULAYER › Concerns › Shapewear bodysuit for a large bust
Yes, with one adjustmentThe NULAYER bodysuit has a built-in bra with no compression on the bust. That is a deliberate choice: the bodysuit smooths the midsection and the waist, and it leaves the bust alone. For a smaller bust the built-in bra is often enough on its own. For a fuller bust it is not, and we would rather say so than let you find out at the party.
What it does do is leave room. Because there is no compression on the bust, your own bra fits underneath exactly as it would under a dress, and the bodysuit sits over it. Nothing is flattened, nothing is pushed where you did not put it, and the shaping you actually want, at the waist, comes from the medium-firm panel below.
Put the bra on first, then step into the bodysuit from the bottom and bring the straps over the shoulders. Set the straps so the bust panel rests over the bra without dragging the band down; your bra's straps run inside the bodysuit's, so under sleeves or wide straps nothing shows. The deep V sits under low necklines, which means a plunge bra under a plunge dress and a full-coverage bra under a crew or square neck.
The rest of the bodysuit is unchanged by the bra: the hook-and-eye crotch closure opens and closes without taking anything off, the bonded edges lie flat under a fitted dress, and the medium-firm panel is comfortable to sit and eat in. The bra does the bust; the bodysuit does the waist.
The chart sizes by bust and waist together. A fuller bust often puts the bust measurement a band above the waist measurement, and the question is which band to choose. The Fit Finder weighs both numbers and picks the band; when the two disagree and you are in doubt, take the larger band, because a bodysuit that is tight across the bust pulls the straps and the waist panel up with it.
Then adjust the straps rather than the size. If the straps at their longest still pull, the size is too small, not the straps; if the bust panel sits comfortably over the bra and the waist panel sits at your natural waist, the size is right.
Which size: Size by bust and waist. If the bust measurement lands a band above the waist measurement, use the Fit Finder, and when in doubt take the larger band and set the straps longer.
| Band | US | Bust (in) | Waist (in) |

| XXS–XS | 0–2 | 30–33.5 | 23–26 |
| S–M | 4–10 | 34–38.5 | 26.5–31 |
| L–XL | 12–14 | 39–41 | 31.5–34.5 |
| 2XL–3XL | 16–20 | 41.5–48 | 35–41.5 |
True to size for most wearers.
Between sizes: the smaller band for maximum smoothing, the larger for all-evening comfort.
For a smaller bust, often. For a fuller bust, no: it has no compression and gives light support only, by design. Wear your own bra underneath, straps inside the bodysuit's.
Under sleeves or wide straps, no; the bra's straps sit inside the bodysuit's. Under thin spaghetti straps both would show, so that dress is a strapless-bra dress rather than a bodysuit dress.
Under a crew, square or boat neck, yes; the dress covers both. Under a plunge dress a full-coverage bra can show above the bodysuit's V, so wear a plunge bra there.
