What makes a full day workable
Three things decide whether shapewear lasts a day: the compression level, the fabric, and what happens at the bathroom. Flights, long dinners and the day of the wedding

When to take it off

A bodysuit in the right size does none of those things; if yours does, the size is too small or the compression is higher than you need, and the fix is a different band or a different garment, not a shorter day. Loosen the straps first if the shoulders are the problem, because a strap set too short pulls the whole bodysuit up. If the straps are at their longest and still pull, the size is too small.
Which size: For a full day or a flight, between sizes means the larger band; the chart's comfort rule was written for exactly this.
